Every time this Twitter page appears on my screen, I have to chuckle. This pic was taken just up the road from here; the building in the background is the Grand Mosque.

Lots of this around here lately. Working overtime to keep Serious Creatures on track for back to school.

There are so many things wrong with this picture. Consider me very disappointed with modern weather technology.

Because it’s funny.
Of course, living out here it’s normal conversation to talk about where we’re respectively from. It’s one of the things we have to remember to turn off when we return to the states.

“Turn Key Tyranny”
I’ll be holding off any discussion on this topic until in-person conversation is possible, but – with all sincerity – this may be the most important thing I’ve watched in memorable history.
From The Guardian:
“The source behind the Guardian’s NSA files talks to Glenn Greenwald about his motives for the biggest intelligence leak in a generation”

One of my all-time favorite quotes, from one of my all-time favorite books:
Then said Christian, you make me afraid, but whither shall I fly to be safe? If I go back to mine own country, that is prepared for fire and brimstone, and I shall certainly perish there. If I can get to the Celestial City, I am sure to be in safety there. I must venture. To go back is nothing but death; to go forward is fear of death, and life-everlasting beyond it. I will yet go forward.
